This stuff works really well at absorbing liquids. My basement has been flooding lately due to the heavy rains we've had these past 3 /- weeks. While I use a large floor squeegee to get the bulk of the water down the floor drain, what remains is easily absorbed by this product. Sprinkle it over the remaining water, allow it to dry (overnight if there's not an abundance of water, otherwise a couple of days), then just get the ole broom and dust pan and sweep up the product. It starts out white, but as it dries and absorbs liquids, it will turn to a shade of grey. It's a simple, no- brainer solution to a headache of a problem! I highly recommend this product. (P.S...the whole bag maybe weighs a pound or two at the most, the stuff if NOT heavy. I'm in my late 70's and it's a piece of cake to use!)

Effective and surprisingly lightweight. This stuff will soak up anything and even afterward, its only weight is from the spill itself, that you used it on.
