Instructions
Stove Top Directions: Pick a Protein: You need 1 lb. meat of your choice. Ground beef; Ground sausage; Ground pork; Ground turkey. Cook: Brown ground meat in 3-quart saucepan. Drain fat. Mix 2 1/2 cups water, Rice mix and 1 tbsp. oil (optional) in saucepan until well blended. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover. Simmer 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Enjoy: Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving.

The Zatarain's dirty rice is a go to, easy dinner idea. It is versatile and can be used with different proteins. I prefer it with ground beef and chicken. The ingredients are consistent and simple. I have used this a lot. I add additional peppers, onions, celery that i cook with the meat (ground pork sausage, ground venison, or ground beef) I add a little more cajun seasoning and crushed peper (we like it spicy) and mix all in the same pot. I do not brain off the grease as i use lean meat and just add water. Perfect 1 pot meal.

Zatarain's red beans and rice tasted amazing! It made me feel as if I was back in New Orleans. The spices were on point. Very nice aroma and texture. I added chopped sausage in mine and the family loved it. No leftovers left. We all throughly enjoyed our red beans and rice meal. A keeper for sure!
