Ventless dryer that dries!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in an old updated condo building. We can only have ventless dryers. My previous small, stackable dryer always left clothes somewhat damp and I had items hanging to complete the drying process. We just renovated and I got this new Whirlpool washer and dryer. This is a full size ventless dryer. So far I have dried about 6 different loads of laundry and it dried everything beautifully. I was most excited when I dried 1 king sheet, 2 twin size fitted sheets and 4 pillow cases in one load and everything was dry. Hopefully the future loads of wash will continue to be completely dry.

Love my new Hybrid dryer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great, the only thing that whirlpool needs to do is to stop the lint from getting behind these lint catcher at the bottom of the dryer, it still manages to get on the coil and I have to vacuum it out, besides that it's a great dryer.

Terrible Quality - AVOID THIS DRYER

This is the most expensive appliance I have every bought, and I can tell it is going to fail very quickly due to the abysmal quality of the secondary filter box. Let me elaborate: The secondary filter screen and filter box have very poor-quality injection molding. The filter box and the filter that goes into it do not line up or fit together properly, so lint blows right past/around the filter. This means lint that the filter should catch is actually accumulating on the heat pump coils, which is exactly where lint should never reach. Also, the filter cartridge has little tabs that are supposed to lock together, but if you snap them together, they just pop back apart. And, despite two gaskets – one against the screen and one on the filter box – I can hear the air howling past the filter box, meaning DESPITE TWO GASKETS the filter box does not seal. Considering the cost and complexity of this appliance, and considering that this filter box and filter are the only thing protecting the machine from failure, THE FILTER BOX SHOULD BE MANUFACTURED WITH AEROSPACE PRECISION! Again, if you look at the filter cartridge inside the filter box, the filter does not line up with the box, so lint/hair/dust/etc are going around the filter and getting caught on the large-mesh grate that is supposed to keep hands and other objects from entering the heat pump area. Let me put it very simply for anyone thinking about buying this poorly-built apparatus. I have been in literally hundreds of factories around the world, and any plastics engineer would have recognized the incredibly poor quality of injection molding and that the parts DO NOT fit together before finalizing the design. This is the most expensive dryer from a so-called “premium” manufacturer, and finding this kind of poor quality is no different than buying a very high end luxury vehicle only to realize the dash board and center console do not fit. Here are some more problems with this "appliance": The machine makes a rattling noise like a fan blade is tapping something. It isn't the heat pump running, but literally a rattle. It made this noise straight out of the box. And I should also mention the feet that come with the stacking kit. The threads on the feet are much thicker than what the bottom of the machine can accept, so the metal on the bottom of the machine winds up cutting the plastic of the threads. Get ready to work up a sweat installing these feet, which are also very poorly made. Back to the abysmal lint filter: Believe me when I tell you, the lint filter is so poorly manufactured that it will 110% be the reason this machine fails. Since I already renovated my laundry room to get rid of the dryer vent, I am without actual options for a dryer. Any of the other ventless options are so small I cannot fit a blanket inside them. This one from Whirlpool is the right size, but based on the filter box, the rattling, and the junky stacking kit, the quality of this machine is so poor I wish I could leave negative 5 stars. This dryer is truly one of the most poorly executed designs I have ever seen, due entirely to the junky filter box. I honestly don't think I could have paid Whirlpool to manufacture a more poorly-executed design. Unfortunately, I also have a matching Whirlpool washer, which I purchased specifically so that these could stack. This will be the last Whirlpool anything I ever buy. Mark my words that I will not buy so much as a toaster oven from Whirlpool ever again. With this one single clothes dryer, Whirlpool has utterly destroyed their reputation in my book. Shame on you, Whirlpool.
