PetSafe Sliding Glass Cat and Dog Door, Rental Friendly, Large

I LOVE this Pet Door! We have 4 cats, and while they are not outdoor cats, they still get to go outside for about 2 hours each day--confined to the back yard. While they are out, I want to close the door, but I liked the idea of them being able to run into the house if they encounter something unexpected outside. This door definitely fits the bill! It's like an insert for a patio door. It's meant to be installed and affixed to the patio door, but we don't do that. Instead, when the cats go outside we just open the patio door, insert this into the opening and let the kitties run in and out as they please, and when it's time for them to come in, we remove the insert. It works great! The cats had a time trying to decide whether or not to come through the opening but they finally decided it was okay. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have a 3 season room that we hardly use but it's always closed with our sliding glass door to keep the heating/cooling costs down. This pet door worked perfectly so we can put our cat litter box out there instead of in the laundry room (less stinky!). The setup of the door couldn't have been easier. We had it all done in about 30 minutes. The top of the door is spring loaded so it will fit anywhere from 76 13/16” to 81” tall door frames. It came with everything we needed for a full installation including hardware, weather stripping, etc. The awesome thing about the setup is you have the option to hard mount it using screws to lock it in place but you don't have to. We just fit it in our sliding glass door frame and it works great with no drilling! Our cat has no problem pushing open the magnetic flap. We don't use it but the door also came with a solid metal piece that slides into place to block the flap as a security measure. I like this sliding pet door so much that I plan on purchasing Petsafes vinyl sliding pet door to let my dogs go out onto the deck on their own. Petsafe makes both aluminum and vinyl pet doors so they have you covered either way. Couldn't be happier with our new pet door!
