Absolutely Fantastic Yarn Winder
Look no further if you are looking for a yarn winder. This winder is fantastic. The two tensioners are a great design. Yarn slides easily off the cone. My previous one had to use toilet or paper towel cardboard rolls. It does a 5 oz skein in about 3 minutes. This saves my wrist and shoulder. Its max capacity is about 5 oz of worsted, aran yarn. I go slow in the beginning until the skein pulls easily then I ramp it up to full speed. When I get near the end I slow it down and feed the last few yards to avoid the inevitable tangle of yarn at the end. I love the gradual increase and decrease of speed. I have from super fine to dk weight yarns also. I see no reason this winder cannot handle those as well. The finer the yarn the more yardage in the ball before the max capacity is reached.

Absolutely LOVE it!!
LOVE IT! Works great. Esp like the ability to change speed. None of the spinners have a cardboard circle in the center like you get in the store-bought circles of yarn. So I used a paper towel roll cardboard tube (toilet tissue tube is too short), cut where the "fins" of the spinner are and tape the cardboard down on the spinner. Then cut the tall cardboard tube to match the height of the spinner and put in 2 slits where the yarn is caught to begin the spin. Complete the spin. When it is done, the paper towel cardboard tube holds the shape so the yarn won't collape onto itself in the center when it is done. Viola! You can store the yarn.
