Previously I had a Mr. Coffee mug warmer for 20 years. Although it stood the test of time, the heat it generated was insufficient in keeping my coffee hot. It was always lukewarm. This Black Mug Warmer has 3 temperature settings of which I use the highest setting. This highest setting keeps my coffee hot. I never use the 2 lesser temp. settings so I can't comment on them. The temperature is most important criteria for me which is why I give it a 5 star rating. The only criticism I have which is minor is, one has to apply a little pressure to button in order to turn it off while holding the unit.

Love this warmer! It keeps my coffee hot (I use the middle setting of 131). The heating surface is a little bit large for me since I only use it for a mug, but it would be great for using a small bowl to keep other food warm as well.
