If you need some comfortable basic shorts these are great. The material is really soft and they have pockets. You can pair them with just about anything. I also really like the length of these shorts. For reference my daughter normally wears a size 8 at 63lbs and 53" tall. The 7-8 fits her perfect and are not too short. Overall a great staple piece for the spring and summer.

My daughter is a really active toddler and she needs clothes that she can be comfortable in, these shorts are very very soft and she loved them! They do feel like thick sweatshirt material but she wore them in the sun and was not bothered, she wears mostly 4T but in athletic clothes she's usually a 4/5xs which is the size we ordered and the shorts fit her waist but are a little long and loose so I would say they run a little bit big
