Winegard Fl5500s Flatwave Amped Indoor HDTV Antenna

I had 2 different indoor antennas and was not satisfied with the # of stations identified (one). This antenna was rated at 50 miles. I live in Anderson, IN 50+miles from the main TV stations. It picked up 2/4 of the main ones and 20 others. It is an indoor antenna and I have no windows in that room so it went thru a brick wall. With the distance and location of the antenna I would say it did extremely well.

The antenna's thickness measures 0.02 inches. In other words, it's a pretty thin piece of flexible plastic. It also measures 12" x 13" so you can mount it in most windows, rather inconspicuously. Just bought a VIZIO 1080p "Smart" TV. The TV itself is very basic. I just wanted a cheap TV to watch while I walked on a treadmill, but that's beside the point. I was looking to maybe pick up a few channels. The room where I placed the Winegard Fl5500s Flatwave Amped Indoor HDTV Antenna is a subterranean family room with one small window. I first set up the new TV and, just for the fun of it, I hit "scan" with NO antenna attached. As expected - no channels received. Thereafter, I did connect the antenna, which took 10 minutes. I followed the brief, VERY clear directions, hit "scan," sat back and waited. 35 channels! AND EVERY ONE OF THEM IS CLEAR. To be truthful, basic cable didn't bring in as many channels, nor as clearly. My location: you may not be familiar with Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but the community itself is made up of many hills and valleys, especially in the suburbs which is where I live. Reception is outstanding. Cost: $54.99 + 7% sales tax - a $2.99 discount for pick up at Walmart. Bottom line, out-the-door price: $55.86 It doesn't look like much, but the technology is nothing short of outstanding. I would highly recommend this antenna to a friend. Finally, and with due respect, if you have basic cable, you're being foolish. I cut the cord two years ago. I'll NEVER go back because of innovations like the Winegard Fl5500s Flatwave Amped Indoor HDTV Antenna. By cutting that cord, you begin to make up for the cost of this antenna in the third month.
