Brackets Exposed, Buy the Whole Bed instead

This headboard has nice fabric, and the tufts are nicely done, however the headboard goes better with the bed rails and footboard. The side brackets where the bed rails would fit are exposed. This can be hidden with a round end table of sorts, but it is annoying. It is also super wide. It is 87 inches wide for a King, so it sticks out like 5 inches on each side. I've seen some reviews on other websites where they sized down. So, if you have a queen, you would order a full instead. I was nervous to do this. You can find the complete bed on Wayfair or related websites for a little more. This is how I found out about the exposed brackets. I found this headboard on another website and many people complained about the exposed brackets. I tried to cancel the order but they had already processed it in less than 24 hours on the weekend, which is great normally. If I could do it over again, I wouldn't have bought this headboard. However, I ordered this during Corona times, and was not able to catch the Fedex guy to refuse the delivery and taking it back to walmart in my car was too difficult. I went ahead and put it together and decided it was just easier to keep it. I also got a smart base from Zinus to go with this. You have to do some adjusting, but it will fit the base. The other small complaint I have about this bed is that my mattress sticks out on the edge because of how the smart base attaches. You may be better off getting the traditional box spring frame for this type of headboard. My advice to you is, find the complete bed on Wayfair. This is meant to be a bed, not a headboard.
