This headboard is absolutely beautiful and great quality! It was easy to put together. When putting the wing sections on, screw in all the bolts but dont tighten until they are all in place, then tighten. It will save you some time. Our mattress and box springs are pretty thick so we didnt have to use a bed frame or rails. The headboard is just free standing behind the bed and it stays in place perfectly! Buy the headboard you will love it!

Gorgeous King Headboard
More than expected because it elevated the portion of the bedroom wall my king sized frame %26 mattress were against. It's height from the floor was perfect however to further add to the dramatics of multiple sized and shaped pillows, I placed risers underneath the wing portion of the headboard which was an added visual appeal behind a very high mattress plus lots of pillows. Directions to attach the wings were easy to install and came with a tightening tool. (eli5 : the wings are the only parts of the headboard that touch the floor which is why risers were only placed underneath the wings)
