West Paw Zogoflex Zisc Large 8.5" Dog Toy Granny Smith

We love this product for our German Shepard. It's heavy enough that it throws easily but not too heavy. I really appreciate it being from the soft rubbery material instead of the hard brittle plastic like regular frisbees. Much gentler on his gums and also won't be scratchy on human hands once it gets worn and a little chew up instead of scratchy like chewed edges on regular frisbees. We plan to check this brand out for other toys too.

My daughter's chocolate lab absolutely loves this flying saucer! It's a bit on the heavy side as compared with another disc toy that is made of a cloth material, but because of West Paw's rubbery material, the Zogoflex Zisc is a lot stronger and more durable. I can already tell that the Zisc will last a lot longer! Our dog tends to thrash his toys a lot from side-to-side, and with the flimsier cloth disc, it tends to tear easier. With the Zogoflex Zisc, our dog can thrash back and forth to his heart's content, and it doesn't come apart! He easily retrieves the toy on the ground, whether on the grass or on the asphalt playground, and maybe because of the rubbery texture of the disc edge, he can grip it a lot better, and when catching it in the air, has a better biting surface. (Mose is a hunter and has a very soft bite, so there's hardly any bite marks on the toy.) And I love that it cleans up easily under running water! I have the lime green colored one, and it's easy to spot when flying and when it hits the ground. It flies a good distance. And surprisingly, it's fairly buoyant; brought it out to the lake, zinged it out about forty feet into calm water and it floats! Great dog retrieving toy…at least MOSE thinks so!
