Lifesaver for elderly dog

Even the vet has trouble getting pills in my elderly dog and now that he needs 4-7 pills per day ham-flavored baby food is the only way to reliably get the pills in his mouth and actually swallowed. I crush the pills into powder first then stir it into 2 teaspoons of baby food and he happily eats it all up. This is quite a triumph given that he can make fools out of three people trying to administer the traditional way. He's 14 but still incredibly slippery, strong and fast.

I crush my cat's thyroid pill and mix it with a tsp. of meat baby food. I then store the opened jar in the refrigerator. Turkey and ham are her favorite flavors. This was recommended by my now retired veterinarian. No struggling with attempting to shove a pill down her throat with her sharp teeth.
