light weight, lots of hammering
item required more hammering than expected with the wooden mallet. one of the pieces had a knot in it, and when the plastic piece was struck with the mallet, it snapped, then one of the other pieces came unglued. I suggest getting a tube of wood glue with purchase of this shelf.

It is not worth it
Very little directions came with it. The slates are stapled on with very thin staples, I had to get glue and glue them on. It is not worth your money to get it. I would not put it outside in the elements.
