Beautiful and functional

Walnut cutting board by Virginia Boys Kitchens measures 11 by 17 inches. The board is a beautiful cut of walnut wood with unique grain pattern. The board came very smooth even in the juice drip groove which can be difficult to sand down sometimes. It comes unseasoned with very detailed directions provided by the manufacturer on how to season, hydrate and polish the board. I used unrefined coconut oil to season mine since that's what I had on hand. I cleaned the board with water and soap and dried it well before staring. I applied coconut oil with a lint free cloth and let it soak the oil up for few hours then repeated. After 3 applications the board seemed to have absorbed all the oil it needed, following the final dry I buffed it with clean cloth and the result is simply beautiful. The board was very impressive and unique the way it came but after oil treatment the natural beauty of the walnut really came out. It is durable and I believe it will last for years to come. It did very well under my sharpest knives so far that didn't even leave marks on its beautiful surface. This is a must have in every kitchen: elegance and functionality combined.

Nice

I love the color of this walnut wood cutting board. It's a nice size light weight cutting board. This cutting board is good to use for whatever you want to. This would be good for yourself or as a great gift for someone that likes to cook or as a wedding gift. If you know someone that does wood burning this board would be great to put initials on it or any saying you want. That really help personalize your gift. There is a groove cut out all away around the board. I'm not sure if I love it or hate it. One the groove helps not making too much of a mess since it captures the liuqued or juices from the fruit or veggies but then again how hard is to keep it clean? We will see I've only used it a few times so far so good. This cutting board is bigger then the one I use to have and I like that my old one was too small.

Beautiful

I was very happy to receive the Large Walnut Wood Cutting Board by Virginia Boys Kitchens - 17x11 American Hardwood Chopping and Carving Countertop Block with Juice Drip Groove. This thing is so gorgeous. I did come to me uncured, so I did have to learn how to do that. It does come with very detailed instructions on how to cure the cutting board and how to take care of it.
