The way this pops open and folds back up flat makes it very convenient, and easy to store. I don't use this for a dog, so don't know how well it would hold up for one who paws at it or chews, but i use it to put my reptiles in, when i clean their cages, and they go right in with very little direction, (they won't voluntarily go into a bag or a bucket, so i think they must like it better). I have also used it to transport them to vet visits, etc; just throw in a blanket, and they stay calm in the car and while waiting. .

Nice for a Kitten / Cat not just Dogs

I swear I ordered an extra small tent and got a medium but that's okay. The popping up did startle me lol but it's fine. I didn't notice any plastic really. I didn't get this for a dog but for my new kitten so she has a more comfortable space to sleep instead of a carrier (she'll be an outside cat but for now is sleeping in the garage.) The cord that kept it closed was on nicely, though it quickly disappeared as the kitten seemed content to drag it off. My sister had a similar version to this for her porch and the kittens had liked it then too.
