Constructions

Upper
Fully bonded construction of synthetic microfiber and abrasion resistant mesh reduce seams and possible hotspots for a lightweight, comfortable and durable upper. TPU infused mesh is molded to add structural support to the lacing system without adding weight and a simple and effective speed lace system dials in fit for long days on the trail. Gore-Tex Extended Comfort Technology waterproof/breathable membrane ensures comfort, no matter what the trail or weather conditions.

Sole
The Vasque exclusive Vibram Ground Control outsole is molded in high performance Megagrip rubber compound and utilizes a revolutionary new construction technique, Lightbase, which reduces the weight of the outsole by 25% with no performance loss. The Enduralast EVA midsole is engineered to provide more compression resistance for durable, longer lasting cushioning and support. An anatomical, compression molded EVA footbed delivers comfort for long days outside.

perfect light hiker

I tried a couple different Vasque trail running shoes for light hikers but they just didn't fit at all! (I saw the reviews about heel slip, but have NOT experienced this at all, I think shoes are like wetsuits some brands or models just fit better!). I would say this shoe exceeds expectations: - comfortable - warm but breathable - waterproof - very grippy - very good construction

Update 8 months after initial review

Shortly after buying these shoes, I wore them every day for a month while traveling in Europe. I put 5-10 miles a day on them mostly on cobblestone streets, but some hiking trails as well. They performed well, and my concern about the shoes being too hot was not the case. Granted that is was in June only in the high 80s. Soles showing some wear, but not excessive considering the surfaces I were on and the distances.

New.

Just bought a pair but mine are grey and black. These may be old new stack not sure. But in the few hours I wore them so far really like the shoe. I will keep you all up to date if any issues. If anyone can tell me when the grey and black hit the market. ( year)
