The nice addition is the armor that forms around the bottom and top portions of the carafe to protect it. The handle sits far enough away allowing a larger hand space to grab it easily. A handsome look that will last for quite some time. Very pleased with this purchase.

Longer lasting glass sleeve
I love borosilicate glass products because they are difficult to break. I've broken at least 5 maybe 6 French press pots. These, I'm assuming, will last longer. For the price, the quality is outstanding. Certain name brands want 50% more in price for thin, easily broken glass. I think I made a really great purchase with this and will clue my friends to this FP pot.
