Chose this nickle-finish finial to match my mid century modern lamp. It's opening is 1/4" but there was aluminum shavings stuck inside that made it very difficult to screw on the lamp harp; it kept wanting to screw on crooked. I took a screw driver to clear out the shavings and it finally screwed on correctly. A great modern topper for my lamp.
