Aimee del Valle is a British watercolour artist living and painting in rural France. Before studying art her life was spent in the world of dance and theatre, a perfect companion to her passion for drawing and painting. "When I wasn't dancing I was sketching people, especially dancers. My parents, both naturally artistic, encouraged me to keep exploring art." Today, ballet remains a strong creative influence, and Aimee's ballerina paintings are often described as dreamlike and ethereal. Greatly influenced by the human form, her nudes and portraits express raw human emotion and sentiment using fast and expressive brushwork. Her work is admired for its comparitively loose and liberal technique which allows the paint to create its own rhythms and imperfections, reminiscent of real life.
