BLACK+DECKER SpaceMaker Stainless Steel 8-Cup Drip Coffee Maker

This is a great coffee make that definitely saves space in a kitchen. I would not say that it does not take some getting used to. But once you do, you would know it is a keeper. Right out of the box, it comes with everything that you need to install this unit: a very detailed instruction book, some parts (plastic spacers and screws) and even a mounting template that has pre-measured screw marks, which will make your life a lot easier when installing the product. I definitely agree with the instruction manual, a second person is needed for the installation. Other than that, the mounting went pretty effortless. After it is powered on, the programming for brewing was straightforward. As what really matters for a coffeemaker in any form, it does make a fresh, hot and delicious cup of coffee. I really like a lot of features of this coffee maker. The unit is not mobile once installed. So if you plan to use it in a mobile environment, like RVs, boats, airplanes, this is very desirable. Secondly, all the parts that can affect the actual tasted of your coffee are completely removable and washable, including the water reservoir, the brew basket and the thermal carafe. I was really excited to find that the Spacemaker has a removable water reservoir that can be washed easily. And it gets better. The carafe lid and the brew basket are dishwasher safe! Also, the brew basket can be used without any paper filter if needed, which is convenient and environmentally friendly. Next, the power cord has a bit of length. It is about 2 feet long and all the way on the back of the coffeemaker. This would allow a bit of wiggle room what you decide on where exactly to place the coffeemaker. Lastly, I like the fact that the thermos keeps coffee warm for a couple of hours. This is essential for a coffeemaker without a hotplate at the bottom. The carafe can also be removed pour a cup out while the coffeemaker is still brewing. This adds to the convenience list. Despite all the good features, the SCM2000BD model still leaves room for improvement. First, I personally prefer the pointed cone shaped brew basket over the flat bottom shaped ones. This is because the cone shaped ones allows better contact between hot water and the coffee grind. Therefore, the coffee it makes tastes more flavorful. So I would have preferred a cone shaped brew basket so my coffee can taste even better. Secondly, the overall appearance of the Spacemaker does not impress me. I am a big fan of Apple products. I like the sleek and elegant design of them. I know that Black and Decker makes appliances that essential to ones' daily life. So the company does not really have to focus a lot on their appearances. Nevertheless, it would definitely make my life a lot happier that the coffeemaker that I use every day is not only functional, but also aesthetically pleasing. I would definitely appreciate it if Black and Decker invested a little more on the cosmetic side of their products. Overall, I think this coffeemaker is packed with good features. You would definitely find it is very useful in mobile environments and small spaces.

Walmart's Spark Reviewer Program offered to send me a new Black & Decker Spacemaker Coffee Maker, With a Stainless Steel Carafe to try out, So i had to accept the offer as i go through a lot of coffeemakers. My present one had been used so much that the on/off switch had a hole worn in it. This Black & Decker Spacemaker Coffee Maker is ideal if you have limited counter space in your kitchen. It would also be ideal for a motor home or travel trailer because it is bolted to the cabinet, the water and coffee ground containers , as well as the carafe lock into place, so you would not have to worry about movement while traveling down the highway. The installation of the Spacemaker is very simple, Just tape the template on the inside or underneath your cabinet and drill four holes. It comes with assorted bolts and spacers so it will fit most cabinets. It only took me about 15 minutes to install. The Spacemaker Coffeemaker makes great coffee . The coffee comes out hotter than my old one and the advertisement for it claims to keep your coffee hot for about two hours . I use my a lot so far and mine keeps it hot for about three hours. The only negative that i see with this Coffemaker is that the Level Indicator for the water reservoir is not accurate. I fill mine to about 1/4 inch above the max line and it works great. I would highly recommend this Black & Decker Spacemaker Coffee Maker and i hope you like yours as well as i do mine.
