This 2014 box set rounds up five latter-day albums from Toby Keith: 2008's That Don't Make Me a Bad Guy, 2009's American Ride, 2010's Bullets in the Gun, 2011's Clancy's Tavern, and 2012's Hope on the Rocks. This is the stretch of albums that found the swaggering country singer starting to slowly settle into his status as an elder statesman, and while there are hits here -- big ones, too, including "God Love Her," "American Ride," "Made in America," "Red Solo Cup," and "Beers Ago" -- these records aren't the blockbusters of the early 2000s. Nevertheless, many of these are satisfying (Clancy's Tavern in particular delivers) and this is a nice, easy, affordable way to get some solid records.
