Way [DVD]

After viewing "The Way" i decided I too would walk the Camino Santiago with my wife. The movie was very much like the actual walk which we accomplished in 33 days in Aug/Sep 2012. This movie will inspire you to do something outside your comfort zone, a trip well worth the effort.

Ignore the one-star review. This movie is not about smoking but reconnecting with oneself, and dealing with the memories of a lost son. I've wanted to hike the Pyranees for years, and now have fresh inspiration to do so. In Chapter 27 (The Essential Tao of Travel) of the book The Tao of Travel, Paul Theroux gives 10 recommendations. #2 is Go Alone. In this movie Martin Sheen superbly acts the role of a grieving father, and also demonstrates why Theroux's "Go Alone" is so essential. I shared this with a teacher friend and he's now watched it twice and shared it with many others.
