These are a little thicker than anticipated. It is not so thick as to not let sunlight through though. The gray is more gray than in the pictures. It takes on a darker tone for a brighter looking curtain. I like the design and it fit perfectly for our window. You can use the valance as an accent or elsewhere in the home.
