Texas Rising [BLU-RAY]

Five-part historical drama about the formation of the Texas Rangers and the state's 1836 uprising against Mexico. Featuring an all-star ensemble cast that includes Bill Paxton, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Crispin Glover, Brendan Fraser and Ray Liotta, the programme follows the Texas Rangers as they take on General Santa Anna (Olivier Martinez) and his Mexican Army in the hope of avenging their defeat at the Alamo. General Sam Houston (Paxton) leads the Texan soldiers and faces questions about his leadership from his fellow officers before the decisive Battle of San Jacinto. After their historic victory, Houston is offered a key role in the governing of the newly independent territory while the Rangers find themselves defending the republic from new enemies.
