Yes, accidents happen, particularly as they age. Past protectors were more like a plastic type of material, which does not breathe well, and consequently they are hot. This protector is WAY DIFFERENT in a good way. It breathes to keep you cool, but also manages to protect the mattress. A win-win! Great Mattress Protector for the Breeze Seriess

It was easy to install and thin enough that doesn't hinder the cooling benefit from the breeze mattress. I wish it was easily accessible online without having to contact customer support to order this one over the original mattress protector listed on the website.
