TRQ Front Strut & Coil Spring Assembly Set Driver & Passenger Sides Fits Select 07-10 Ford Edge Lincoln MKX

I own a 2010 Ford Edge that had the original OEM struts. Going over small cracks in the road and small bumps, I kept hearing "thumps" - not loud, but noticeable. On a road with lots of cracks and little bumps, it was pretty noisy. Since the original struts were still in there, I figured the thumps were from those (especially being 15 years old). These struts are solid, quality parts and matched my original ones perfectly. The boxes were a little bang up, but they were strapped so all was good.The install took longer than expected since this was the first one I have done. I had a helper. We didn't take the wiper cowl off since that is a pretty big job itself. It took time to get the top nuts off the old strut since space is tight in that spot, but with determination, was able to get them off.We sprayed the bottom nuts/bolts with Blaster 16-PB and let them sit for a while. With the right tools, they all came off nicely. Being very careful around the brake line, we were able to get the old strut out - no issues. This all took about an hour.Installing the new one was a little more challenging. We got the new one in position but just couldn't line the top bolts up with the holes in the strut mount. We tried several times - and that strut is heavy. We also switched entry from the rear to the front. Also turns out, we had to rotate the top plate (the one with the bolts at the top) in order for it to fit into the mount holes. That was the frustrating part, but once we figured that out, it went right in. We only did one side so far and it has definitely improved the ride in some cases, but I still get those thumps over cracks and small bumps. I will probably need new control arms or something else. Still better than having a car payment.All said and done, I would buy these again.
