I'm not a motor expert, but I was able to get the CM6800 up and running without much trouble using the manual. Like most pull-start chainsaws, it takes a bit of effort to get it going, but once it's started, it runs smoothly and has plenty of power for typical yard work. I picked up the fuel and oil at Home Depot. At first I put the chain on backwards as I wasn't paying attention to the images right on the guide bar and I kept forgetting to loosen the 2 bolts on the side in order to adjust the chain tightness. The saw feels sturdy and well-balanced in hand. It cuts cleanly through medium logs and branches without bogging down. The controls are straightforward, though the choke and primer bulb could be labeled a little clearer for beginners. Noise and vibration are about average for a gas-powered saw of this size. Overall, the CM6800 is a solid, no-frills chainsaw that delivers good performance for the cost. It's a great option for someone who needs a capable chainsaw for occasional use, even if you're not especially mechanical.
