Caring For Your Shag Rug:
To keep your shag rug looking its best, vacuum it weekly and set the vacuum to its highest height setting to prevent it from pulling out the rug material. Avoid using beater bars or brushes, as they may damage your rug; suction-only vacuum wands are gentler on rug fibers. Treat spills and stains immediately. Stains on rugs made from synthetic fibers or other washable materials should be easy to treat. For wool shag rugs, apply a stain-specific solution to the rug. For shag rugs that aren't machine-washable, annual steam-cleaning or dry-cleaning is recommended.
