STANLEY 12-920 6-3/8-Inch Block Plane

I own 2 of these planes. One is over 30 years old and the other is about 5 years old. The new one is just as good as the old one. I use one in my shop the other in my work van for cabinet fabrication and installation. The tool is basic, does what is supposed too, and will last a lifetime if cared for properly. I have owned this model for over ten years. It is a wonderful tool that can accommodate many needs. Currently it is being used to shape planks in a wooden boat build. And even on wood that curves it works well - when skewed - to get a flat surface. The only issue I have is the toggle style lock on the cap. However, if you hold the plane so that you're not fumbling you avoid unintentional unlocking. One important feature, which I wish my Lee Neilson rabbet block plane had is the adjustable throat. This is a great feature when trying to limit the amount of shaving you are pulling off. This plane is great in either pushing or pulling modes of use. Every workshop needs one of these.
