I am in my mid 70's and didn't need a lot of bells and whistles on my treadmill - - just something on which I could walk to exercise in my air conditioned home when it is hot and humid here in the summer and road work is not fun. This fills the bill - - and then some. I do like the built in programs, although I must reduce the faster speeds to my walking pace - - but it will allow me to do that. My husband usually just does his own thing, adjusting the speed and incline without using a program. Could you exercise at higher speeds?? Yes. My granddaughter did one of the more advanced programs laughing and running when the speed picked up and the incline increased- - so this is good for us older people, but not only for older people. When not in use, the platform lifts to the folded position easily and lowers very easily when ready to use again. I do not feel extremely secure when rolling the treadmill because of angle of tipping required to engage the wheels - but my husband who is taller than I, has no problem. Altogether it is a very adequate treadmill and no monthly fee necessary to access the programs.
