Hob - From Ambient - Rangetop Directions. Each bag makes 1-1/2 cups. 1. Pour about 1 quart of water into medium saucepan and submerge 1 bag of rice. Bring water to a boil uncovered 8-10 minutes. 2. Remove bag from water with fork and drain. Cut open bag and empty rice into serving dish. (Add butter and salt if desired.). To cook multiple bags, pour 3 quarts water into large saucepan and submerge 2-4 bags of rice then follow Steps 1-2. Microwave - From Ambient - Each bag makes 1-1/2 cups. 1. In a 2 quart microwave-safe bowl, submerge 1 bag of rice in water (about 1 quart). Microwave on High 15 minutes. 2. Remove bag from water with fork and drain. Cut open bag and empty rice into serving dish. (Add butter and salt if desired.). Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate. We do not recommend using the microwave to cook multiple bags.

This rice is easy to make, and you can test the consistency ( use tongs!) and cook it to suit your preference. The portion size is good for three, and the nutty basmati flavor is there. My hubby and I prefer different rice types, but this is a safe bet if you are suiting different tastes. I appreciate the ease with which you can cook it a little firmer if you like.
