M-D Building Products 11783 3-1/2 in. x 1-1/8 in. x 36 in. Natural Hardwood and Vinyl Low-Profile Threshold

The overall height in the description is 1.1", so I was expecting the wood base would be a little higher than 5/8". That means the vinyl insert protrudes 3/8" to 1/2", which is OK. But, I needed to cut out a groove to slide over new 1/2" flooring, so this wouldn't work. I did this with an existing oak threshold at another door, and it worked well. Unfortunately, this particular threshold is a little lower. But, it would have worked beautifully with my old floors, which were flush with the sill. In fact, it might be the same one l took out, but broke because one of the screws holding it down wouldn't come out. I think it's a good product, it just didn't work for my particular application.

The product is as expected except that the vinyl strip is light beige and smooth rather than dark brown and ribbed as shown in the picture.
