DVDs On USB systems
This device makes a great DVD/CD burner to add to a laptop PC or Apple with no internal DVD/CD device. USB 2 and 3 is capable of powering it, without a separate power pack, but on some USB connections a 'split USB' cable would boost the power feed using two plugs. This unit would play and burn all CDs and DVDs except Sony Blueray. The LG disc unit is much better than any Memorex models.

The DVD-Writer comes with software. I did not use it. Plugged the device into my laptop running windows 10. The computer identified the device, loaded the necessary drivers and good to go. The drive is powered by the USB port no additional power supply is necessary.
