18" R2D2

I wondered if he "did" anything. I found the place to put in batteries but there was no connection. It was just an empty shell. Did I pay for more than I got?

Not fun for kids

My child bought this and we are very unhappy with it. it has a compartment for batteries but no connectors for batteries, it looks like it should at least light up on some places on the top. All this thing is good for is sitting around taking up space, it does absolutely nothing for the high price, do not buy this piece of plastic junk, maybe I can have my child exchange it for something that does something and get their moneys worth.

Interactive shell

I haven't bought one of these ,but based on the reviews about the battery compartment without prongs, here's what I believe has happened. Years ago a r2 d2 of this same size was sold for around 197.00 if I remember right, this toys was "interactive" it danced , went on patrol , responded to voice commands , had sonar and a half dozen other features. It was the exact same size as this r2 d2 , it is my belief that the company simply sold striped down versions or rather versions of the interactive r2 d2 that were devoid of the "guts" of the more expensive toy, they simply sold the interactive "shells" as a different toy. That would explain the battery compartments with no prongs, since this r2 d2 does nothing , they didn't put in the prongs as there was no use for them.. More than likely they had a surplus amount of shells to get rid of , since the interactive r2 is , at present, no longer manufactured, they made a "new" toy with leftover pieces of the interactive r2
