Good mechanics (plastic but recognizable)! Each piece is marked at the bottom of the stand to indicate what the character represents as it's chess form natural look. This will help you maneuver you pieces as you play but you have to be acquainted with chess to know what the piece represents. That saying for the price it's a nice chess set.

Awesome!
This was my sons Favorite Birthday gift, and he also got a laptop!!! The pieces are really well made with lots of details. My son loves Star Wars and playing chess so this was the absolute perfect gift.
