Runs small

These are cute but they are SMALL. I bought an 8 for my average sized 7 year old. His boxer briefs were bigger than the shorts and the shirts didn't even fully cover his midriff. We ended up giving them to a friend's 5 year old who is petite and wears a 4. I can't bring myself to try a 10 because the 8's were so small. I don't want to waste any more money. It's disappointing because they are cute, my seven year old LOVED them and I can't find anything similar.
