I bought the "stander" because, due to arthritis, I was having trouble getting up from the loveseat. When I tried this device I found it didn't quite work for me but then I had my husband try it. He has a weakness in his knees. It works very well for him and, bonus, when I sit on the loveseat beside him I use one handle from the unit and the arm of the loveseat and am able to stand with little problem. Now we can sit together and hold hands rather than being in two arm chairs. The unit is very sturdy and well made. There are many options to customize the size and height simply with just the allen key that is provided.
