I actually bought this twice, to go with an older, used KitchenAid mixer that I bought used. The first time it didn't fit into the mixer and would not lock. I returned it. I then bought a name branded bowl and it was even worse. I really want to use this mixer and I finally purchased a replacement clampling plate for the mixer. I ordered this bowl again. It was simple to replace the clamping plate, and it corrected the problem. This value priced mixer bowl now attaches firmly to the mixer. The clamping plate was relatively affordable, so I totally recommend that others having trouble with the bowl locking down to consider replacing the clamping plate.

This bowl fits the 5.5 %26 6qt KitchenAid mixers. I just purchased the 6qt mixer from Costco and wanted more capacity for larger recipes this holiday season. The KitchenAid 5.5-7qt bowl lift mixers all have the same dimensions so I was curious if this 7qt bowl would fit. It arrived and fit perfectly! The attachments all reach the bottom of the bowl and only the rim is taller. The bowl is well made and sturdy. It is a less expensive option than the hundreds of dollars KitchenAid charges for their mixer with a 7qt bowl. Would definitely recommend!
