The protective tubing is paper thin. You can crush it easily with your fingers. I don't know if this will be suitable for my power cord but I am going to try it. I have used many different similar types before and they were not this thin.

I regret this purchase. Main issues: about 4.8 meters instead of 6 meters advertised. Worse, this stuff is too thin so it deforms easily and doesn't stay shut. Finally, shipping was slow. I tossed it in the garbage and bought the stuff Home Depot sells. Much better quality.
