We used our solo Mesa xl on our 2 week beach stay. Hubs made an outdoor LVR under the outdoor parking area of the house. The house are lifted on stilts for flooding weather. So he set up our chairs and in the middle our perfect small solo, for me, my bestie and pups. Roasting marshmellows and hotdogs every night and keeping warm in the beach fall weather!

Nothing negative! This exceeds expectations. Creates a nice ambiance. The underside of the stove stayed cool so I think it would be fine on a wooden table (outside of course). We haven't tried it without the heat deflector, but with it, it radiates heat a few feet. You can burn any wood: kindling, mulch, wood pellets.

Great for people with asthma or conditions aggravated by smoke. Filled with pellets and some twigs, a small cube of firestarter, and it ignites quickly. The fire lasts about an hour. I got a lot of smoke the times I tried refeeding more pellets. If you don't like lengthy, smoky campfires, this is a great alternative. It burns very hot and leaves little ash. I put it under a portable grill grate and cooked over it.
