Great HEFTY tape!
Good feel in the hand - yes, oddly much like a baseball. Tested the extension... and... it dropped at EXACTLY 13 feet. Nice! It'd be nice to have the autolock feature on this one too, as it gets a bit unruly (HA!) when you're extended out that far. Easy to read numerals on a thick tape. Great product! Great product!!
The tape has a great standout limit. The numbers and hash marks are very visible against the bright tape. I do a lot of construction work and it doesn't seem to wear out so I might never have to use the replacement for it. Lol. Great tape to get someone as a gift. Haven't found a better tape measure.
I recently took over a high school shop program and had to make a lot of purchasing decisions. I have been using the Stanley Fat Max series for years on a variety of construction projects at home and for extra money. As I shopped for tools I knew that a good quality tape measure was a basic necessity. I purchased two dozen for the shop and they are being used every day. We do have a bin of the old miscellaneous tape measures but I see my students gravitate to the Fat Max. Without my having to say much they have discovered the quality and it is their go to tape measure daily. I know that they will stand up to the rigors of teens and inexperienced users as they build their skill set. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
