Microwave Directions: 1. Mix 2 1/2 cups water and 1 cup rice in microwavable bowl. Add 2 tsp. butter or margarine and 1/2 tsp. salt, if desired. Cover. 2. Microwave on high 5 minutes. Stir. Microwave on medium (50% power) 20 minutes or until rice is tender and most of the water is absorbed, stirring occasionally. 3. Let stand in microwave 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving. Microwave ovens vary; adjust cooking times as needed. Cooking times are based on an 1100 watt microwave oven. Stove Top Directions: 1. Bring water to boil in saucepan. Add butter or margarine and salt, if desired. 2. Stir in rice. Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 20 minutes or until rice is tender and most of the water is absorbed. 3. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving.

I took a trip to Monroe, Louisiana and asked if they had any Uncle Ben's rice. The waiter said no but we do have Zatarain's and it is as good if not better. I whispered in his ear that I did not and could not eat gummy rice and if his Zatarain's was gummy please do not bring it out . You talking about some good rice and I had my Gumbo on the side, as Andy Griffin used to say " them some good eats". The texture , the smell the look and best of all the taste was fantastic. Since then I am Zatarain's all the way. I get the Zatarain's line of products now. I still get Uncle Ben's occasionally . It is a good price for a better product 2 lbs. for $2.72 Get some you will thank me!

Best Rice I've Ever Tasted
I am a Southern girl, raised in South Texas, near the Louisiana border. I have eaten rice all of my life. I can honestly say this Zatarain's White Rice is the best I have ever tasted! I bought it once to try it and I'm back again to buy more. It cooks up so well, evenly and does not clump or get mushy. Each individual grain of rice is cooked and actually plumps up a bit, but remains firm. The rice stays separated and fluffy. I just can't believe I had never tried this rice before now. It is excellent!
