My favorite feature is that you have the option to use D size batteries or AA size batteries. The light on high is very bright and will light up the den, kitchen, bedroom nicely during a power outage and is much safer than candles. This works so well I am love them. No, really, it's amazing! It has three modes/settings, two different ways for powering with batteries, is easy to carry and stable when put down. It doesn't heat up to the touch, which? Always a good thing when carrying a lantern. This is great for power outages and for camping, but also to just use in the house as a nightlight. I couldn't recommend this enough! Everyone should have one for emergencies, if nothing else.
