I purchased three of these to use for storage of my craft supplies, mainly yarn. If you are unsure of buying this Sterilite model, you need to ask yourself a few questions. I will get to this is a few moments. I currently have three Sterilite storage drawer models. I have been using two of the models for over 5 years and they are made to last, when used correctly. In my opinion, I like the solid color with the weave design the best, it is also the most expensive and getting harder to find. The pros are definitely its strength, and the privacy of the drawer contents. The cons are it doesn't come with wheels. Which is fine you plan on always keeping it in one spot. Read to the end to find the final con on all Sterilite storage units. I also own the model that looks like this one, the drawer handles are much better than this one, which is just a rectangle shaped hole. It is stronger than this model and it is a little wider. The con is the lack of privacy as to the drawer contents, and read on for the final con. Now, to this model. The pros for this unit is its amazing price. Of the 3 varieties I own it is the most affordable, and it is smaller to fit into tight spaces. The cons are it is definitely the flimsiest of the three, and it does not come with wheels. Now, to get to the pro and con features that all of them share. Pros, are stack-able when secured together, price and storage. Price, these are more affordable than furniture made of wood, or the fabric storage drawers. Storage, they live up to their name; they are storage draws that make it easier to access your stuff. Cons are you cannot store heavy items, some units you can see what's in the drawers, and finally I will tell you the con they all share. Although you can stack these if the upper unit has very light items, because the weight will sit on the frame (be sure to secure them). You cannot put heavier items on the top of these units. Items like a bedside lamp, or a decorative potted plant, will cause the middle to sag, and you will not be able to open the drawer. Sterilite should sell an accessory of a stronger top. Now, to the questions you should ask yourself. 1)- What do I need to store in the unit I purchase? How heavy is it? (Blankets, yarn clothes are fine but heavier tools are a definite no!) How strong should new unit be? Do I plan on putting things on top of the unit? Does it matter to me if others can see through the drawers? Do I want to cover the drawers and with what? I prefer that my storage drawers be covered because I use them in my home, as opposed to a basement, attic or garage. In conclusion, Sterilite storage drawers are a great value, and a wonderful resource for storage of the right types of items. I prefer the covered drawers for aesthetics.
