I really love trying food from all around the world. I'm on a fixed, limited income; so it really pays for me to try and cook exotic recipes myself at home, rather than eating out in restaurants. This delicious, spicy ( but not deadly 😜) garlic sauce/paste is a versatile ingredient I can use making various dishes. I can mix it with some yogurt to marinate chicken in; it imparts a rich deep flavor and gives an attractive color to the meat before grilling or roasting. I can add a dollop to sauces to zhuzhz up the flavor. I've found this to be a little jar with a lot of uses around my kitchen!

Versatile

I like this sauce. It's versatile. It doesn't have to be use just for Asian food but I add it to marinara sauce, use it like an Italian deli hoagie spread, mix into dips for snacks, veggies, seafood, etc. It's not hot and doesn't have a definitive Asian profile. Definitely not Huy Fong but there are so many ways to make sambal oelek. Just go to SE Asia. Otherwise, it's a good item for the table.

A rare W for me, when I try new grocery items

I could almost take a star off because when I used this in stir-fry it sizzled and splattered violently, moreso than anything I've ever put in a pan. Can't wear clothes I care about while searing/frying with this and will need to clean the stove/wall after. Taste-wise I'm totally satisfied. I've had this with sourdough bread, tearing off pieces and dipping in the jar. I plan to put it on bbq pizza. This brings the heat, and I like heat, but it has to have depth of flavor and this brings that too. Perfect tang, not vinegary to me. It's hot enough for me, but used sparingly my mom didn't complain. I can't wait to add to ramen and drunken noodles. I plan to repurchase.
