Irwin/Hanson 3101010 Irwin Hanson 48pc Master Extraction Set

Had a screw rusted into the tailgate that I broke off, so bought the Irwin set. Found the proper bit size and extractor for a 1/4in screw and started drilling. Even using light cutting oil the bit barely cut into the screw. I applied a little more force and the bit broke, the part in my drill then lurching forward and gouging the paint on the tailgate. I had an old set of drills, matched the bit and that one went right in at least a 1/4in. inserted the extractor and attempted to back it out, but it simply spun without grabbing. Applied a bit more force and then, in a consistent fashion, it snapped off and is now inserted in my tailgate.
