Almost the same as home made!
I generally make my own ginger paste at home but the past few months I just haven't had the time so I buy the Shan ginger paste and it's as close to the taste of freshly home made ginger paste you'll find! Less work to worry about and no compromise on the taste. The jar came packed in multiple layers of bubble wrap to protect it and it really makes cooking a little bit faster.

Love it. I use ginger extensively in the cold months as a soup flavoring. It adds a lot of zip, and is less intrusive than pepper. Add after cooking, along with minced or ground garlic for a remarkable flavor combination. It's good with brown sugar (or its substitute if you are diabetic) on whole-grain cereals, particularly oatmeal. Then of course there's ginger bread! Go lightly there.
