Finished in satin nickel, this knob works with both left- and right-handed doors and fits the two most common backset sizes in the U.S. (2-3/8 inch and 2-3/4 inch). The 1/2-inch nickel-plated latch bolt stays securely in place for dependable use. Privacy knobs are commonly used on bedroom and bathroom doors and can be opened from the outside with a generic tool in case of emergency. This knob fits standard doors 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inches thick and comes with a 1 x 2-1/4 inch radius corner faceplate. For installation, the door should have a 2-1/8 inch cross bore and a 1-inch edge bore. ANSI Grade-3 certified, this knob meets residential security standards.
