The Shark Flex Corded Ultra-Light HV390 is light and easy to operate, and makes the task of keeping bare floors and carpeted an easy job. There is plenty of suction available in the both speeds available, each for the specific surface. While doing our bare floors for the first time, we noticed right away how much dirt it got rid off, much to our delight. While using it next on our thick capet floor, the results appeared even better. Only two accessories came in the box, the Crevice Tool and the Pet Multi-Tool, but the rest of their accessories line up can be obtained directly from Shark, for additional money a Dusting Brush, Upholstery Tool, an Anti-Allergen Dust Brush and a MultiFlex Under Appliance Wand (very useful for cleaning under heavy furniture), can be had. This vacuum has a long cord, and it permits plenty of reach before relocating power sources. The Quick Start Guide and the Manual are straightforward and easy to follow while learning the ins and outs of this brilliantly efficient vacuum. Every part clicks into place, and when ready for storing the machine basically folds in two, making it easy to put away. The MultiFlex Wand lock/release button is just one of the advantages this machine offers. Compared to other name brands this vacuum has equal capabilities, as is able to as good of a job than its more expensive rivals. We, as a family, are very thrilled to have this newer vacuum in our home.

I would use this vacuum more on surface flooring and not so much on carpeted areas. I felt that the suction was ok. I do like that it lightweight. However, it is rather basic. It is a corded vacuum with 2 wrap hooks on the back. The dust cup is a little smaller than I'd like, but for quick pickups, it does the trick. The main warning for this vacuum is that it doesn't stand up alone. That's because it's a bit top-heavy, so be careful that you lean it against a corner or against the wall. I do like that there is LED headlights to illuminate the floor, but it's not that necessary since I probably won't be vacuuming in the dark, anyways. There is more maintenance on this vacuum due to the brushroll/soft roller, so I will probably use this more on floors and curtains. I did use it to suck up a grasshopper on the wall. Although it was not recommended for that use, it was effective. One nice feature that this vacuum has is that it shuts down when it overheats. It is inconvenient since you have to wait a out a 1 hour before using it again, but safety is important, so I don't mind so much.
