Nightmare assembly. Engineering and design defect

I was rocking along until I got to the step where the unit is to be stood upright. I had someone helping me so we did so with care. That's when the middle section collapsed causing the pieces in the middle to scratch and gouge the surfaces as they slid down. It was a nightmare trying to fix the middle section when the two cabinet sections were already assembled and the backs attached to them. Nothing was right after that, drawers did not line up, and the sliding rails would not function smoothly. When we tried to move the unit to the desired location, just a few inches against a wall, the middle section collapsed again, causing the whole unit to sag in middle. We discovered the main problem: the back for the middle section was composed of 2 pieces of particle board, rather than one and secured with only pins. We realized that the back being in two pieces rather than one was for packaging purposes - to keep the box a certain width. This design decision, to keep packaging costs down, compromised the structural integrity of the piece. Thank goodness I had not placed my 65 inch TV on it. Blowing on it would have caused it to topple. Needless to say I returned the unit the next day.
